Delight of the Day 9/15

I know everyone loves booties for fall, but I’ve been a very reluctant convert. My mom always had them growing up, and they kind of always had a witchy feel to me. Perfection for Halloween parties, but not something I’d wear every day. Then I saw these beauties from Christian Louboutin, and realized they weren’t all so bad. Only problem? I can’t justify spending 1,000 dollars on a pair of booties.

Alas, my brief flirtation with booties was finished. Until I went shopping this weekend. This adorable sales associate had on the cutest booties, so I had to ask her where she got them. She told me they were Clarks. I was shocked, because I think of Clarks as sort of a granola company with comfortable shoes, but not necessarily the cutest. Well, I stand corrected. And at $140, these are much more in my price range.

Cute Workout Gear

With the arrival of Girl Scout cookies (+ the coldest winter of all time), I’ve definitely been slacking when it comes to working out. The Boy got me the cutest pair of sneakers because I was complaining about a lack of motivation, which got me thinking that a cute new workout wardrobe could do wonders. I scoured the web for some of my favorites (all to match my new shoes!) and thought I’d share. Now, if only I could find a workout I enjoy as much as these clothes!

Fall Essentials

It’s unofficially the most wonderful season of the year – fall! One of my favorite things about fall growing up was back-to-school shopping. While I may not be going back to school, I’m totally all about fall shopping. For me, it’s all about riding boots (may my old ones rest in peace), quilted jackets, and a great neutral leather tote. What’s on your list?

Delight of the Day 2/3

I adore scalloped edges. They add a fun, feminine touch to otherwise classic pieces. So a pretty shift dress with a scalloped edge? Sign me up. J.Crew’s Scalloped Shift Day Dress, $94.50, is about as cute as can be for your basic shift dress. Personally, I’d pair it with a fun skinny belt and some Jacks, but that’s just me. How would you wear it?

p.s. If you need some cheer on this snowy Monday, I’ve found it (in the form of puppies and Clydesdales):

Delight of the Day 8/20

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Printed Peter Pan Collar Tee from J.Crew Factory, originally $72 but currently on sale for $59.50. I absolutely love the Peter Pan Collar trend. I hope it never ever goes away. It’s so polished and ladylike, but you can also dress it down with shorts or jeans and Jacks for a more casual look. And with J.Crew’s sale on new arrivals, now’s the time to get ahead!

Delight of the Day 5/16

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Photodome Bangle from Lilly Pulitzer, $48. I love Lilly, but, sometimes, their products can get a little pricey. So when I see the chance to own one of my most beloved prints for under $50, I’m going to be all over it. I adore the Resort White Spring. Which is your favorite?

Delight of the Day 5/3

Today’s Delight of the Day is probably the item I’ll be lusting over all summer. The Resort Chic Wedges from Lilly Pulitzer, $218, are just about the cutest darn shoes I’ve ever seen. Yes, they’re sorta kinda pricy, but they’ll be the perfect pop to any neutral dress you’re wearing this summer. Plus, how can you turn down a pretty Lilly print?

Delight of the Day 4/8

Yesterday was a sad day for preps everywhere. Lilly Pulitzer, may she rest in peace, shook up the traditional preppy wardrobe with her bright prints, and no closet is complete without one of her classic shifts. In honor of Lilly Pulitzer, today’s Delight of the Day is from the lady who lived every hour like it was happy hour.

I’m one of those people who can never find things that fit off the rack. I have to have almost everything tailored. So when I find something that fits well, I buy it in pretty much every color they sell. Case in point: the Lilly Pulitzer Mimosa Skirt, $98. This will be my fourth, and I’m not the least bit ashamed.

Lilly Pulitzer’s New Year Cheer Sale

Preppy girls love Lilly Pulitzer. Her clothes are bright, pretty, and fun, plus Lilly used to room with Jackie Kennedy. How could we not love her? What Lilly lovers love most are the two big annual sales – the Endless Summer sale (end of summer) and the New Year Cheer sale (just last week). This year’s sale was one of the best in terms of prices. I had a lot of Christmas money left over, and with everything I wanted being offered at 70-75% off, I couldn’t help but get in the Lilly spirit. How did you do at this year’s sale?

Poppy Top
(I got it in navy but couldn’t find a picture – sorry! This top is definitely a little wide, so if you plan on finding it elsewhere, keep that in mind.)

Briar Skirt

Mimosa Skirt

Cassie Dress

Davie Dress
(Love this dress, but it will definitely need to be tailored. There isn’t any much shape to it at all.)

Evie Dress
(You can still get this at Zappos for around the same price as the sale. It fits like a dream.)

Hopefully you saved up some money, because Rue La La will have Lilly on sale today starting at 11:00 am! If you’re not already a member, sign up here!
