Delight of the Day 5/28

Today’s Delight of the Day – the Printed Sun Shift from J.Crew, $69.50 – is one of those dresses you just know will become part your default look. I actually ordered one of these last year and took it all over Europe (5 weeks, several different looks), so that’s a testament to its versatility. I love that they have three different prints this year, but I’d probably stick with the stripes just because they go with everything. I’m picturing it with these wedges and a colorful cardigan for an outdoor dinner date. Love, right?

Delight of the Day 4/4

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Lexington Dress from Lilly Pulitzer, $198. I love how reminiscent of the vintage patterns it is, but with a more modern cut that would be flattering on anyone. If you’d like to see some of my other favorite from Lilly, feel free to check them out here!

Just a friendly reminder to enter my Kidogo Kidogo giveaway! It runs until Sunday, and you could win your very own iPhone case. Who doesn’t love changing up her cases?

Lilly’s Summer 2013 Collection

Well hello, strangers! It has been far too long! I’m finally back in the US, and finally settled in enough to start blogging again. The trip was incredible (I promise I’ll have an all-telling post next week), but it’s definitely nice to be home again.

I know I’m a little tardy to the party on this one (my phone got stolen, so I had no contact with the preppy world, okay?), but I’m loving Lilly’s latest collection. Although, I do have to admit, I’m not crazy about the Get Nauti print. Shocking, I know. It’s just not for me.  However, I have included some of my favorite looks. Which are you dying to buy?

 The Pearl, $298

The Amanda, $198

The Kirkland, $188

The Capricia, $298 (I’m obsessed.)

Last, but not least, The Java $268

Delight of the Day 3/25

I know I say it every season, but J.Crew’s 2013 Spring Collection might be my favorite yet. It’s definitely the year of stripes for them, and I couldn’t be happier. My absolute favorite piece has to be the Rope Stripe Sailor Shorts, $75. They’re simply darling. Imagine what fun you could have styling these this summer! Blazers, button downs, blouses…the sky’s the limit with these. What would you pair them with?

Delight of the Day 9/7

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Linen Blazer from Ralph Lauren, on sale for only $69.99! The end of summer sales have been great this year, and this blazer is no exception. While there is a school of thought that says you shouldn’t wear linen after Labor Day, I think it’s totally okay when it’s still this hot. Pair it with some navy shorts and cute wedges for the perfect end of summer look!

Ralph Lauren is offering 40-70% off their sale items, so definitely check it out if you haven’t already!

Cape Cod Shoe Supply

The lovely Juliette of Cape Cod Shoe Supply asked if I would be interested in doing a review of her new shoes, the Mainsail. I quickly jumped on her website and saw how adorable these flip flops are and immediately said yes! Their website describes the Mainsail as, “Almost like being barefoot…turk’s knot braided flip flops are made of twice-washed cotton rope and a soft rubber/EVA bottom,” and I have to agree.

As soon as I put these on my feet, they were comfortable. There was no need to break them in, and I didn’t get any blisters after a few hours (I wish I could say the same for some of my other flip flops. Ahem, Rainbow.) I paired them with a pair of navy chinos and a Jackie pullover to run some errands on my day off, and I can’t tell you how many compliments I received! Preps are no stranger to the turk’s knot, but I love the idea of having it on my shoes instead of just on a bracelet on my wrist or on the straps of a bag. I absolutely love the design Juliette came up with and can’t wait to try the other colors!

They come in pink and green (the combo I chose!), white, and navy and white – giving you plenty of options as to what to wear with them. Plus, great news, Cape Cod Shoe Supply makes them for women AND men! Just imagine a stroll on the beach with the boy when you’re both wearing these shoes. Picture perfect!

Also, check out Juliette’s story on how Cape Cod Shoe Supply came to be; it makes me want to head to the beach for some inspiration right away!

“The concept came late at night, in China of all places. I had just had another perfect weekend on Cape Cod – and had to rush back to New York, jump on a plane, and be off again on another business trip. I reached into my bag and pulled out a sailor’s knot bracelet; a stowaway from the weekend.

As I sat there exhausted, with this piece of Cape Cod in my hand, I thought about the bracelet and what it means, what it really is: It’s vacation. It’s adventures and silliness. It’s sailing and swimming and getting dirty and having fun. It’s barbeques and clambakes and friends and cousins. It’s popped collars, boat shoes, and too much seersucker. It’s our childhood. It’s the beach. It’s summer.

Cape Cod shoe supply is about uncomplicated styling with a youthful spirit. We’ve started with a simple flip flop- putting thought and detail into every component of the design. The twice-washed, 100% cotton rope is hand braided and stitched, and the leather piece will naturally burnish over time. We hope you like wearing them through all of your summer adventures.”

Delight of the Day 7/20

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Dipped Beach Tote from Tory Burch, $199.50 (on sale!). While you can definitely use this as a beach tote, I think it would make the perfect summer handbag. I love that it’s structured but also laid back enough to be used during summertime. Plus, you know I love my stripes!

Delight of the Day 7/11

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Silicone Watch Collection from Swell Caroline. While I love the Michael Kors watches, they tend to be a bit pricey. These watches from Swell Caroline are so cute, they come in a bunch of fun colors, and they’re less than $30! At that price, you could get every color and still spend less than the $250 MK watches.

Also, if you haven’t already signed up for Swell Caroline’s Reward Program, you need to. You get 5 Swell Bucks just for signing up, 1 Swell Buck for every $10 you spend, and 10 Swell Bucks for referring your friends. That means potentially free jewelry! What’s not to love?
