Delight of the Day 2/19

smoking slippers

Today’s Delight of the Day is the perfect pair of smoking slippers, and they’re only $24.94! These look just like my Charles Philip Shanghai slippers (that, sadly, cost five times that much). I’m a sucker for anything with stripes, but they also come in coral polka dots and a floral pattern. I love wearing mine with white skinny denim and cute blouses for day dates and shopping. And, at less than $25, how can you say no?

Delight of the Day 5/29

In looking for an inexpensive cardigan to pair with yesterday’s post, I stumbled upon the cutest patriotic sweater from Old Navy. The Star Sweater, $34.94 (but 25% off with code ONSAVENOW), is the perfect amount of American pride without being too extreme. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but, ya know, office parties and such.) I’ve purchased a few Old Navy sweaters as of late, and they’ve been great – especially at their price point. What’s to lose?!

While you’re browsing, you might as well order these Lounge Shorts, these Flip Flops, this Shirt, annnd this one.

Delight of the Day 5/28

Today’s Delight of the Day – the Printed Sun Shift from J.Crew, $69.50 – is one of those dresses you just know will become part your default look. I actually ordered one of these last year and took it all over Europe (5 weeks, several different looks), so that’s a testament to its versatility. I love that they have three different prints this year, but I’d probably stick with the stripes just because they go with everything. I’m picturing it with these wedges and a colorful cardigan for an outdoor dinner date. Love, right?

Delight of the Day 1/1

key blouse

Happy New Year! I hope you had a super fantastic time celebrating last night and that you aren’t hurting too badly this morning. If so, add some alka-seltzer in a glass of water, put on your Ray-Bans, and drive to the nearest Starbucks. Then, snuggle up with your laptop and check out today’s Delight of the Day, Old Navy’s Key-Print Crepe Blouse, $26.00. As a Kappa, I’m partial to anything with keys. As a girl in an entry-level corporate position, I’m partial to any blouse that costs only $26.00. This will look perfect for work with the new wool skirt the boy gifted me for Christmas, or you can pair it with your favorite jeans and a cardigan. Don’t you just love versatile tops?

Also, thanks to Mary Beth Goodwin for telling me about this!

Preppy Looks for Less – Polka Dots

If you recall, the Delight of the Day from a couple of weeks ago was the Polka Dot Cashmere Sweater from J.Crew, $268. While at my local mall, I discovered that Old Navy has polka dot sweaters that look practically identical at only a fraction of the cost! Unfortunately, the green is no longer available on the web, but your local Old Navy should still have it!

Old Navy:

Shoes for Spring

Spring seems to be popping up everywhere. That means, as much as I love my leather riding boots, it’s time to put them away and bring out spring-friendly shoes. These are my favorites!

It goes without saying that you’ll need some rainboots for spring. With so many styles and so many colors, you’re bound to find a pair you love!

Hunter Regent Carlyle in Milk Chocolate, $195
(I own these and love them. Yes, these are a little on the pricey side, but they’re worth it. They’re the best looking pair of rainboots on the market. Plus, they channel that equestrian look, and who doesn’t love that?!)

Hunter St. James, $195

Hunter Original, $125
(These are the classic rainboots, and they come in a plethora of colors!)

Sperrys are the quintessential prep staple for spring and summer. What would a prepster be without her sperrys? I own three pairs.Authentic Originals in Ice, $79.95Authentic Originals in Oatmeal, $79.95

Brooks in Navy, White, and Platinum, $90

Flats and Loafers
In Pennsylvania, it’s way too cold to wear just flats in the winter. Spring is somewhere in between winter and summer weather, so flats and loafers are perfect for these months!

Asos Macabee Patent Loafer, $68.04
(Mint is everywhere this season, e.g., on my nails, so these are perfect!)

J.Crew Biella Patent Leather Loafers, $230

Old Navy Cap Toe Canvas, $22.94
(These are so similar to the Kate Spade flats below – but are 10% the price!)

Dr. Scholl’s Palma in Cream and Gold, $50

Me Too Paige, $62.99

Kate Spade Tabby, $225Kate Spade Tabitha, $225
