Charles River Apparel Giveaway

Giveaway

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed I’m hosting a giveaway with Charles River. If you’re not, why are you even on Insta? I kid, I kid. It’s literally the easiest giveaway you’ll ever enter. All you have to do is like the photo and follow both of our accounts, and you’re set! You can win extra entries by tagging friends and reposting the photo.

Can’t wait to see if you won? I don’t blame you. You can get the New Englander (pictured above) here. This is the perfect jacket for spring. It’s extremely lightweight, and it keeps you super dry. I packed it for my Costa Rica trip, and, even though it looks like it was sunny above, I got caught in a few thunderstorms and was saved by this jacket! Another one of my favorites is the Heathered Fleece Jacket, and the Fitness Jacket makes me actually want to try working out.

Good luck!

The winner gets to choose ANY product of their choice. I love this simple winter jacket for ski days and this heathered fleece jacket for running errands. I’m also a huge fan of the pullover Sydney from Summer Wind picked.

All you have to do is follow Preppy Delight and Charles River Apparel on Instagram and like one of the photos. You can earn extra entries by tagging your friends and/or reposting the picture and tagging both of us. Good luck!

Delight of the Day 4/4

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Lexington Dress from Lilly Pulitzer, $198. I love how reminiscent of the vintage patterns it is, but with a more modern cut that would be flattering on anyone. If you’d like to see some of my other favorite from Lilly, feel free to check them out here!

Just a friendly reminder to enter my Kidogo Kidogo giveaway! It runs until Sunday, and you could win your very own iPhone case. Who doesn’t love changing up her cases?

Kidogo Kidogo Giveaway

Up and Away

I’m beyond excited to introduce you to Kidogo Kidogo, whose name means “little by little” in Swahili. This awesome company, started by two sisters, sells iPhone cases, and, for each one they sell, they donate a cell phone to women in Tanzania. (Think Toms shoes, but even more incredible.)

Flamingo! In their own words, “In Tanzania, only 36% of women own mobile phones, and the number one reason preventing them from ownership is the initial cost of a mobile handset. Mobile phones in Tanzania are prepaid where owners can buy credits at bodegas and other small stores around the county. These phones are also much more to these women then just a way to communicate with family and friends, although they do enjoy this as well.  A mobile phone is a flashlight, a watch, a calculator, a camera and a radio. In Tanzania mobile banking is extremely common, and a phone provides women a way to make secure banking transactions. Mobile phones are also used monitor consumer markets and receive health reminders and updates. Women with mobile phones also report a much higher feeling of personal safety than those without.”

 Little by Little

“At Kidogo Kidogo, we sell iphone cases. But these cases do a lot more than just look good and protect your phone — they are putting life changing mobile technology into the hands of women across Tanzania. You see, when you buy a case, we buy a phone (or phone credits) to give to a woman who could not otherwise afford it. The phones are then distributed to women through established non-profit partners already working in Tanzania. We currently have partnered with FINCA, a global charitable microfinance organization, whose mission is to provide financial services to the world’s lowest-income entrepreneurs so they can create jobs, build assets, and improve their standard of living. We have also partnered with an environmental NGO in Tanzania, Sea Sense. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the sea turtle case will be distributed to Sea Sense who works closely with coastal communities in Tanzania to conserve and protect endangered marine species.”

Go Fish

Each case is priced at $30 each, and they were designed by an esteemed Tanzanian-based artist, Sarah Markes, and feature some of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife.  There are five iPhone 5/5s case designs and two iPhone 4/4s case designs!

Flyover Press + Giveaway

One of my favorite male bloggers, Nick from Great Lakes Prep, recently started his own company – Flyover Press. There’s the East Coast (obviously the best, but I’m biased), the South, the West Coast…but we sometimes tend to forget about those flyover states (yep, cue Jason Aldean). Flyover Press is out to change that. They’re all about promoting Midwest love. And, while I’m not from the Midwest, I can absolutely support Nick’s mission, because, well, ‘Merica.

Just check out their “About Us” section:

Located in southwest Michigan underneath planes venturing cross country, Flyover Press seeks to end the coastal bias that leaves the Midwest so often ignored. By crafting made in the USA apparel and posters inspired by the people, places and traditions of America’s Heartland, Flyover Press serves as a way for Midwesterners to display their pride to the rest of the country.

We’re committed to three things, high quality American-made products, excellent customer service and providing products for the people of the regions of this country that are too often ignored. And having fun while we do it. Some of our best ideas are hatched over a couple beers with old friends. So make that four things.

We also love the Midwest and try to support it in as many ways as possible. That’s why we try to produce as many of our products in the Midwest as we can. Our shirts are printed in Indianapolis and while our posters are printed in Connecticut, they’re done by a couple who broke into the business in Chicago. As we add more products to the line we’ll continue trying to seek out Midwest sources. It might not be the least expensive way of doing things but it’s how we believe in doing business.

Plus, as if making everything in the US (and, specifically, the Midwest) didn’t make them amazing enough, they also donate 3% of all profits to Midwest-based non-profits! Any brand with a philanthropic side is good in my book.

So now you’re hooked, right? I can’t say I blame ya! Lucky for you, Nick has generously offered to give one reader the chance to win his or own Patriotic Midwest Tank Top or their choice of any print on the site. All you have to do is enter using the Rafflecopter below…and decide which one you’d choose!

Delight of the Day 8/23

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Polka Dot Pencil Skirt from J.Crew Factory, now $79.50 (plus take an extra 30% off with code SALE30). I love J.Crew’s pencil skirts. I have cotton ones, wool ones, and fun decorative ones. Do I need another? Of course not. Am I going to buy this one? You betcha. I love anything with a good polka dot print, so when you put it on one of my wardrobe staples, I’m practically obligated to buy. Where’s your favorite place for pencil skirts?

While you’re at it, make sure to check out my Sorority Symbol Giveaway with Greek Life Girl! And look for a giveaway next week with Flyover Press!

Delight of the Day 8/22

So I know I usually post about clothing and accessories, but today’s Delight of the Day was just too cute to pass up. If you follow me on Twitter, you know I’ve been on the hunt for my first apartment. I lived in the dorms my first two years of college, then the Kappa house after that. After graduation, I became a stay at home daughter. Butttt, now I’m ready for bigger and better things.

Since I’m not having a whole lot of luck finding an apartment in this crappy charming little town, I’ve decided to buy everything to decorate it so that I’m ready to go on move-in day. You’re welcome, daddy. When I stumbled upon these gems on Pinterest, I knew I had to have them. Lilly Pulitzer shower curtains! Can you imagine how cute they’d be? I, of course, would choose First Impression Hotty Pink – one of my all-time favorite prints. Plus, they have matching towels! Cutest bathroom ever.

And don’t forget to enter my Greek Life Girl giveaway!

Delight of the Day 8/21

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Dot Com & Collected Dress in Navy from ModCloth. Now that my prison sentence corporate career is back in gear, I’m always looking for ways to add pretty things to my day. This dress is it. So cute, right? I love that I can wear it during the last days of summer AND I’ll be able to pair it with some tights once it gets cooler. Look at me being all practical and grown up. Ha.

And, while you’re at it, make sure you enter my Greek Life Girl giveaway! One lucky reader will get a tumbler, norts, and a frocket with her sorority’s print! You have until Monday at 2:00 to enter. Good luck!

Delight of the Day 8/20

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Printed Peter Pan Collar Tee from J.Crew Factory, originally $72 but currently on sale for $59.50. I absolutely love the Peter Pan Collar trend. I hope it never ever goes away. It’s so polished and ladylike, but you can also dress it down with shorts or jeans and Jacks for a more casual look. And with J.Crew’s sale on new arrivals, now’s the time to get ahead!

p.s. How cute are these sorority tumblers? You can enter for your chance to win here!
