I’m typically completely finished with Christmas shopping at this point, but I have to admit that I’m procrastinating this year. There are so many cute gifts out there this year that I’m struggling to choose the best ones. (First world pains, I know.) If you’re slacking like I am, you’ll love this week’s posts; I’ll be sharing my favorite gifts for each person on your list. Good luck deciding!
Whilst recovering from my food hangover this morning and feeling #blessed, I scoured the internet for the best deals going on today/this weekend. There might have been some better deals in the store, but I had zero desire to line up in front of the mall at midnight. If you’re brave enough, may the odds be ever in your favor. If not, check out my roundup below:
Amazon.com // 30% off select clothing , shoes, accessories, jewelry, and watches with code 30BLACKFRI
Ann Taylor // 50% off everything with code CELEBRATE
I’ve shared this bag a few times, and I’m going to share again. This weekend only, it’s only $50! Steal of the century. Plus, sign up with this link; you’ll get a popup with a 20% code. (Tip: you have to sign up with a new email address. If you already have an account, try another email.) Then use this direct link to the bag itself.
Last year, I swear every Basic in the world had this Limited Edition Monogram Mug from Anthropologie. I searched everywhere, but they were sold out instantly. Cue devastation. Thankfully, the people at Anthro knew what a gem they had on their hands, so they’re selling it again this year! At only $10, you can buy one for you and for each of your besties as gifts. Can’t wait to see this on everyone’s Instragram!
I’m super excited to introduce you to Lily Grace. Just reading their bio, I knew you’d love them: “Lily Grace is a close-knit group of family and friends who were inspired to create a brand that embodies everything us girls love about being southern, classy, and modern. Each design was hand-drawn with our interests and personal styles in mind.” Right up your alley.
The lovely ladies over there sent me the softest t-shirt with one my all-time favorite Oscar Wilde quote: “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” The graphic is extremely well done, and the cotton is nice and thick, i.e., it’s not going to crack and pill after a few washes. Love. While it is starting to get a little cooler (read: freezing) in Pennsylvania, I’ve been finding every excuse possible to strut around town in this shirt. Added bonus? It’s oversized, so it leaves room for all those apple cider doughnuts that I can’t seem to turn down. Oops!
Priced between $30 and $38, these make great Christmas gifts for your little or your BFF. I also suggest throwing in some koozies ($5) so you can definitely own the best gift giver superlative. Good luck choosing your favorite design!
If you follow me on Twitter, you know I spent my evening last night browsing the Nordstrom Fall Clearance Sale. There were a lot of awesome steals on designer goods (I finally ordered a Burberry scarf, and my favorite Christmas present from last year is on major sale!), and there were a lot of inexpensivestockingstuffers for my friends and fam. I thought I’d share some of my favorite steals with you!
p.s. Don’t forget about the Talbots Friends & Family sale! Time to stock up on cashmere sweaters.
I must have been living under a rock, because I just realized Kate Spade is having a surprise sale! There are some really great deals that I didn’t want any of you to miss out on. I chose a few of my favorites in different price ranges. Gift giving season is right around the corner, and it’s never too early to start planning!
I mentioned a few ago that I have a new obsession with Talbots. They are quickly replacing the place in my heart that was previously reserved for J.Crew’s basics. So when I saw that they were having a sale for 30-40% off some of my favorites, I knew I had to share. I adore this Collared Breton Strip Sweater ($38.99) and this Plaid Henley ($35.99)! Scroll below to see some of my other fav steals.
So I goofed. I told you guys I’d post my final review in two weeks, and, after I wrote the post that Thursday night, I accidentally scheduled the post for 09/18/2016. Oops. Anyway, it has officially been four weeks since I started using Smile Brilliance, and I’m excited to share my final thoughts with you.
Edit: I figured out why the first picture looks brighter than the after. Flash. Duh. I’ve taken another picture (no photoshop!):
Final thoughts? It definitely whitened my teeth. I already had fairly white teeth (I told you: I’m obsessed), so I only expected them to get a shade or two whiter, and they definitely did. After the first two weeks (during which time I used the product three times a week), I slowed down to just once a week for maintenance. This is working super well, as I haven’t noticed that my teeth yellow at all (as opposed to white stripes, where your teeth are back to normal after two weeks). To me, this is a huge selling point and differentiates Smile Brilliant from everyone else out there.
I thought I’d also share some tips that I learned along the way. Less is more. I was putting way too much whitening gel in the trays, and it was hurting my gums. The desensitizing gel made the pain go away, but I wasn’t super comfortable using it again. I checked the website and looked at the directions (imagine that), and I realized I was using waaay too much product. After I corrected that mistake, it was smooth sailing.
On your first application, only leave the trays in for 15-20 minutes and eventually build your way up. When I had too much gel, leaving them on for more than 15 minutes was not an option. After I finally figured out that mistake, I realized I could increase the amount of time I left them on without causing any sensitivity. I’m up to about an hour now.
Use them at night. The chemicals in the gels essentially open the pores of your teeth (just like your face!) to let in the whitening products. Doing it before bed gives those pores all night to close up so that when you’re sipping your AM coffee, your teeth are protected. Otherwise, you’re basically opening up your pores and inviting black coffee to stain them. Kinda counterintuitive. Plus, the desensitizing gel coats your teeth in a bunch of minerals, and you don’t want to wash that away with your breakfast or lunch.
