New Year, New You

BluePrint Cleanse

Most of us are planning our New Year’s resolutions for 2015, and, if you’re like most people, one of them has something to do with living a healthier lifestyle. I’m absolutely one of those people. That being said, I’m horrible at finding the motivation to start diets/working out regularly. Once I get past the initial hump, I’m crazy-dedicated, but, until then, I’m worthless. That’s actually a huge reason I did a cleanse at the beginning of this year. I would try to run and eat salads for a few days, but I’d be right back to Thin Mints in no time. After the cleanse, I stuck with it until after my vacation fell through at the end of July. Intense.

BluePrint Cleanse

With literally the perfect timing ever, Rue La La just started a BluePrint Cleanse sale! (If you’re not already a member, here’s a free signup link!) You can choose from 3 days ($149.99 – regularly $195.00), 5 days ($249.99 – regularly $325.00), or 9 days ($439.00 – regularly $535.00). When I did mine, I purchased two 3-day cleanses (excavation level), and I thought it was great, so I’m going with the 5-day cleanse. Keep in mind, for a few days before and after, you really should only eat veggies, so if you can’t live without chocolate for 15 days, 9 might be too long.

If you’re seriously considering the cleanse and have any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email. I’m happy to help if I can! preppy delight[at]gmail[dot]com. One question I was asked a lot after my first cleanse was if it was just as effective to buy them at your grocery store. The answer is no. I’ve read that, while they’re still healthy if you buy them there (vitamins are always good!), they don’t pack the same cleansing punch. That’s why BPC overnights them, keeps them as cold as possible without freezing, and tells you to drink them right away (aka if they arrive Monday, start Monday and finish Wednesday).

New Year’s Eve Style on a Budget

New Year's Eve

It’s almost New Year’s Eve! After spending a small fortune on Christmas gifts + grad school tuition, I was kind of panicking about what to wear until I went the J.Crew and Banana outlet stores this weekend. Both are having major sales (take 40% off clearance at J.Crew Factory with code EXTRA40 and 50% off sale at Banana Republic with code BRSALE), and they have so many items that are perfect for NYE! If only finding plans were so easy…

A Christmas Story

Christmas day is always insane. You wake up, open presents, then it’s off to your grandparents’ house for a big lunch, and, before you know it, you’re off to celebrate with your boyfriend’s family! Knowing how to dress for each celebration can be overwhelming, but don’t worry – I’ve got you covered.

Start the morning in some super cute plaid PJs with your favorite monogrammed mug in hand. After all the presents are open, paint your nails in the most festive red you have, and relax by the tree until they’re dry. Next, throw on a plaid button-down topped with a sweater, and slip into your Bean Boots – it’s time for grandma’s. Eat all the Christmas cookies you can, but not too many! You still have to fit into your new sweater dress, which you’ll obviously pair with your Tory wedges and tartan tote. Don’t forget to call The Boy with your tartan-covered phone to tell him you’re on the way (oh, and the gift for his parents)!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Cold Weather Essentials

I don’t know about where you live, but it is getting cold in Pennsylvania! With Christmas coming up, it’s impossible to stay bundled up inside under blankets, so I’m sharing some of my favorite cold weather essentials! What are your must-haves?

Marley Lilly

fleece vest

While I was on my trip, I had some seriously cute goodies from Marley Lilly delivered to my door, and I’m so excited to finally be sharing them with you! The lovely ladies sent me the Monogrammed Fleece Vest, $44.99 and the Christmas Plaid Blanket Scarf, $39.99. Both are beyond cute.

In terms of sizing, I usually wear a small in outerwear. Thinking the vest would be the same, I ordered a small, but it’s a tad too big. (Thank goodness for tailors, right?) As soon as I get it taken in, you can bet I’ll be wearing it everywhere. It’s super cozy, and who doesn’t love vests this season? I love them paired with boots and sweaters!

The scarf, on the other hand, has become my favorite accessory ever. It’s so warm and soft that I struggle to take it off – even once I’m safely inside. Seriously. Also, I wore it to the movies with the boy this weekend, and it served as the perfect blanket to keep me bundled up. Talk about functionality! (Side note: there are so many cool ways to wear a blanket scarf. Who knew?!)

If you’re a last-minute shopper, I highly recommend checking out Marley Lilly. Some of my other favorite items? The striped vest, the monogrammed duffle bag, and these cute running shorts! You can never go wrong with a monogramed gift!

Delight of the Day 12/04

ciate nail polish gift

It’s rare that I feature something in the beauty department, but when I saw this on Sephora, I knew I had to share. Today’s Delight of the Day is the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar from Ciate, $60.

 sephora holiday gift

I’ve loved using advent calendars since I was a kid, but, let’s be real – I don’t need another excuse to eat chocolate every day. This nail polish calendar from Ciate is perfect, because it gives you 24 new shades to rock all winter long without any calories! I also have a feeling someone on my list will be getting this as an early Christmas present 😉
